We are honored to participate as Team "LoCo On Cancer" for the 2019 Students of the Year program, a seven-week initiative in which select high school students from around the country participate in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  Most high school kids want to give back and make a difference in the world, they just have no idea how to do that.  As a team of Loudoun Valley and Woodgrove High School students, most with a connection to cancer,  we have found that way to make a difference.   We are proud to dedicate our fundraising efforts to a classmate and friend to so many, Sara Willis.  Sara fought a long battle with brain cancer but sadly lost her battle on Thanksgiving.   With your help we are confident that we will be able to reach our goal of $50,000.00 in order to fund a childhood cancer research grant in Sara's name.  We have watched to many of our family and loved ones battle this horrible disease and need to find a cure TODAY!

WHY LLS?  Since the early 1960s, five-year survival rates for many cancer patients have doubled, tripled or even quadrupled. And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are helping patients with other cancers and serious diseases. In fact, drugs first approved for blood cancers are now approved to treat patients with stomach cancers, skin cancers, and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis.

Please visit our website often to keep up with our progress and list of events!

On behalf of Team "LoCo On Cancer" and cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support!

Loco On Cancer’s Events

Feb 04, 2019

ONGOING EVENT - CANCER STINKS!  Let your neighbors and friends know that you think "Cancer Stinks" by donating to have the "designer" toilet bowl placed in the yard of your choice.  It will be left with a note and a challenge to donate themselves and pass the toilet bowl to the next unsuspecting person.  You may also purchase "Tidy-Bowl Insurance" if the thought of a toilet (a very eye catching toilet bowl to say the least) in your yard is unbarable.  To participate with this fun event please contact us at LOCOoncancer@gmail.co tp set up delivery. ("Tidy bowl" insurance may be purchased for $25.00 to ensure that this beauty does not end up on your lawn)          Donations for this campaign are to be made to the TEAM PAGE and NOT the individual team member page.
