In this day and age we have all lost a friend or family member to some form of cancer, and I am no exception. I lost my wife to leukemia in 2016. We had started riding bikes for health and fitness a few years before her diagnosis. In 2017 I rode my first Scenic Shore 150 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). Along with 1,400 other riders, we raised $1,400,000. This year will be the 27th year for the event which is in Wisconsin.
Now, many of my friends (and their friends!) are riding too! We have dubbed our group [the] Eccentric Gimp Riders, EGR. Our weekends often include casual group rides and we have even entered a few small events. How many of us will be riding the 2020 Scenic Shore 150? We have no idea, but EGR is committed!
Each of our riders must secure minimum donations to LLS of $400. Donations made to our team page are distributed to our individual riders to help us meet our goals.
Please read through our stories (links below) to find out what this ride means for each of us, or to donate to a specific rider. Here are links to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Mission Statement, frequently asked donation questions, and what your donation can do.
We, Eccentric Gimp Riders, are asking for your help. Any support that you can provide is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Michael Campbell
