Emma Johnson | Counting on a Cure

Welcome to Emma Johnson's SOY Fundraising Page!

Jan 20, 2020

Hello!

For those of you who do not know me well, my name is Emma Johnson and I am a junior at Kettle Moraine High School. I am enrolled in the Health Science charter school of KM in hopes of venturing into the amazing field of health care. I love dancing, hanging out with friends, and spending time with my awesome family. This year I am taking on yet another challenge!

I’m very excited to share with you that I am part of the 2020 Student of the Year campaign and over the next 7 weeks, I will be working to raise money and awareness for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and their mission to cure blood cancers.

It is an honor to be a part of such an outstanding group of fellow students, but an even larger honor to be able to work for the patients, survivors and their families. I am fundraising in honor of an inspiring little girl named Harlow. Harlow has won the battle of cancer! After learning about this amazing young girl, I knew I needed to help make a difference.

My best friend, Ellery Dahlberg, approached me with the exciting news in the beginning of December and since then we have both been extremely determined to reach our goal through the help of our team, “Counting on a Cure”. Our team goal is to raise $50,000 between January 21st and March 12th. It’s a lofty goal, but I am willing to work hard to reach it. I cannot do it alone, I need your help. There are a few ways you can support my fundraising efforts:

  • Donate via my personal fundraising page: https://events.lls.org/wi/milsoy20/ejohnson

  • Share my message and fundraising link with your contacts via email or social media

  • Donate a silent auction item that can be used for the Grand Finale Gala auction

  • Help me secure a corporate sponsorship (Sponsorships start at $3500 and sponsors receive Gala benefits)

Since the early 1960s, five-year survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled or even quadrupled. And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are helping patients with other cancers and serious diseases. In fact, drugs first approved for blood cancers are now approved to treat patients with stomach cancers, skin cancers, and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis.

We really are changing the face of blood cancer!

All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.

Please visit our website often and bring friends who would also like to donate!

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support!
