Dear Family and Friends,  

 
     I’m starting with the man in the mirror. Being a 17 year old, my main priority has been to secure my future by focusing on graduating and getting into the right college. Along with those priorities comes the chaos of it all. However, after discovering the opportunity that the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) offers, I was forced to step away from that chaos and realize that my main priority, rather than securing my own future, should be to secure the futures of US citizens who have been diagnosed with blood cancer. 

 
     Approximately 10% of deaths from cancer were caused by the diseases Leukemia and Lymphoma. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society helps to fund the research of cures for blood cancers as well as ensures patient access to treatment. LLS’s goal is to make these patients’ lives healthier and longer. 

 
Students of the Year campaign is a 7 week fundraising competition in which high schoolers work to raise money for the fight against blood cancer.
