Welcome to Amy Lee's SOY Fundraising Page!
Dear Family & Friends,
It is with joy and admiration to share with you that our daughter, Campbell Lee, has been nominated as a candidate for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) Students of the Year campaign! This campaign is a seven week journey to help LLS raise money, raise awareness and to achieve its mission: to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
There are over 1.2 million Americans who are living with a blood cancer and I am one of them. Daily, I see the rapid increase in new patients of all ages arriving to MD Anderson seeking treatment and remission from these blood cancers. Lymphoma is one of the cancers that MD Anderson has targeted as a moonshot program. With yours and our help through LLS, we hope that one day there will be a cure for Lymphoma and other blood cancers. LLS is currently funding 13 researchers from MD Anderson and Baylor College of Medicine with budgets of over $15.2 million. For more information on these advances, please visit www.lls.org.
As mentioned, the Student of the Year Campaign is a seven week journey which begins on January 8, 2020 and ends on February 28, 2020. Campbell and her teammates: Kathryn Bragan, Jake Giesler, Carter and Bill Lee, Lindsey Price, Kay Walker, Larsen Weber, Emma Claire White, Gentry Lee and Amy Lee together form Team CUREsaders. Our team goal is to raise $50,000 during this seven week campaign. Every dollar counts — large or small — and is incredibly appreciated. A $10 donation helps an LLS-funded researcher grow cells in a lab for a week to understand how well a new blood cancer therapy might work.
We hope you will join us in supporting Team CUREsaders to help create a world without blood cancers. To donate online, please visit our fundraising website, https://events.lls.org/txg/HoustonSOY20/aleey6 and click on the “Donate Today” link. If you prefer to mail in your donation, please use the enclosed pre-addressed envelope. Please make your check payable to “The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and print “Team CUREsaders” in the “Memo” section. The deadline for receiving contributions in the mail is February 25, 2020. Please note: your donations are tax deductible.
If you have any questions, please contact us at amylee@sbcglobal.net and gentry.lee@hotmail.com or visit https://studentsoftheyear.org/students-year-houston.
Thank you for considering our request to help the LLS mission and Team CUREsaders truly make a difference for so many people. Because, beating cancer is in our blood.
Sincerely,
Amy and Gentry Lee
