 As you may know, cancer has touched the lives of many individuals, and it’s very likely that you, or someone close to you, have experienced the impact of this disease. In my own family, we have witnessed the strength required to face this relentless disease head-on. Several family members have battled with cancer, and these individuals have taught us the true meaning of strength and hope.

I am excited to announce that I am part of Team Answer for Cancer for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Students of the Year campaign. Student Visionaries of the Year is a fundraising competition among high school students raising funds for cancer research and patient care. The campaign takes place from January 26th to March 15th and works to raise awareness of LLS’s mission: to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families. This year my fundraising goal is $750 and I earnestly hope to gather your valuable support in achieving this goal!

• Answer for Cancer Night: An exciting fundraising night that includes dinner, cocktails and mocktails, live performances by local high school musicians, and a compelling silent auction. The event is on February 25th from 6:30-8:30 PM, and more information about how to attend will be sent out soon!

The more awareness we spread, the more we help provide hope to patients and families battling blood cancers today. I can’t wait to share the exciting updates of the next seven weeks with you.
