$8 goes to the shirt company $12 goes to LLS. The $8 could go down depending how much we sell, so the more shirts we sell, the more goes to charity.

   Hi, I’m Kylie Pascual. I am only a high schooler now, but I am taking upon a larger position to raise money for an important cause. This is the first year the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, also referred to as LLS, has opened a new chapter on Hawaii. This foundation is the largest nonprofit group dedicated to blood cancer. The mission of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is to cure Leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improving the quality of life of patients and their families. Although the overall goal is to then find the cure for all cancers.

   I joined this organization because my uncle inspires me to work through hardship with a smile. I grew up with his support and love through every school fundraiser. He later was diagnosed with cancer and I saw him completely change his life; his family and he still planned dinners to share with our family, but in the beginning, no one ever talked about it. When this foundation appeared, they reminded me of the good I can do to all the patients and families. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society help patients on their journey by educating and supporting them through their treatments and help families pay for treatments for those patients. From that week, I was reminded that LLS is like a family- no one is more caring and supportive than your family.
