Boots's Student Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser
Dear Friends & Family,
Did you know that there are more than 1.3 million Americans fighting or in remission from a blood cancer?
I am very excited and honored to share with you that my good friend, Charlotte Goodman, and I were nominated to lead a team for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Student Visionary of the Year program. High school students around the country have this opportunity each year, and we are thrilled and honored to lead a team of our friends this spring. Student Visionaries of the Year is a 7-week philanthropic competition for high school leaders seeking to make an impact in the fight against cancer. This cause is important to me because blood cancer, specifically leukemia, is the most commonly diagnosed form of cancer in children and young adults. I decided that this year is the year I want to step up and run as a candidate to make a lasting impact, and I am so happy Charlotte is my co-candidate.
Our team, Kids Kicking Cancer, has a fundraising goal of $50,000 between January 17th and March 10th, 2023. We know that this is an ambitious goal - especially for two high school freshmen! But we are determined to do our best for the fight against cancer and to be bold in our goal-setting.
We certainly can’t achieve this goal alone and would love your help! These are a few ways you can support our fundraising efforts:
● Make a tax-deductible donation to my online fundraising page: https://events.lls.org/sav/svoysavannah23/bbucklerlcx
● Share my message & fundraising link with your contacts via email or social media
● Donate a silent auction item for the Grand Finale Celebration auction
● Become a corporate sponsor (Sponsorships start at $5,000, and sponsors receive Grand Finale recognition benefits)
LLS’s mission continues to fund cutting-edge research, provide free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, and mobilize thousands of advocates!
I’m very proud to be a part of Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign - working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission, but also to build lifelong leadership skills. Thank you for your support! We pray our efforts go a long way in the fight against blood cancers.
I look forward to sharing my updates with y’all over the next seven weeks - and I really can’t wait to see what my team and I can accomplish with your help!
Thank you for your support,
Boots Buckler
