Students of the Year Sacramento

Rhegan Kreiser | Team Believe

Rhegan's Students of the Year Fundraiser

Mar 01, 2022

I am excited to tell you about an impactful project I’m working on. Myself along with other Sacramento area high schoolers have come together with a united focus of raising funds for cancer research. Our team, Team Believe, is student led and organized by my friend, and soccer teammate, Dani Malone. With Leukemia being the most common cancer in children and teens, accounting for almost 1 out of 3 cancers, our goal is to raise awareness amongst family, friends, and our community as we raise funding for blood cancer patients through the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

LLS will ensure that every penny you donate is put to good use. Since 2017, LLS helped advance and fund 85% of the blood cancer treatment options approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. And a lot of this research isn’t specific to blood cancers, but to other cancers and diseases such as multiple sclerosis and Alzheimer’s.

With our campaign beginning in less than a month, we wanted to notify you now as we prepare to kick off. The campaign will run February 10th - April 2nd, and I will be sending updates with more information about our cause and progress. Within these 7 weeks, we will be collecting donations to help those who suffer from blood cancer.

While our mission is to spread awareness for all who are challenged by this disease we have the opportunity to rally behind an Honored Hero, Aylee Sharron, an active, 13 year old girl, who loves cheerleading, from Reno Nevada. Putting a name and face to our efforts makes this very real and motivates me.

Although I haven’t had personal experience with Leukemia or Lymphoma specifically, both my Grandmas battled and passed away from cancer. I know that hope and positivity are such important factors as patients and families are on this journey, and I’m honored for the opportunity to play a small part in bringing comfort to them.

I hope you will consider joining us in our efforts as we fight against blood cancer. I welcome any questions you might have and encourage you to contact me by email, text, or phone.

All donations are 100% tax-deductible. If you are willing to donate please use this link, https://events.lls.org/sac/sacsoy22/rkreiser

If you would prefer to mail a check, please make it payable to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) and put Dani Malone/Team Believe in the memo portion. Please mail your donation to 4781 Bamboo Way, Fair Oaks, CA, 95628.

Thank you and God Bless!

Rita was a breast cancer survivor for 14 years. It's a wonderful blessing to see such caring and thoughtful students engaged in this impactful and life saving project through fund raising for LLS and honoring Aylee Sharron.
