Hello and thank you so much for visiting my website! My name is Sophia McIntosh, or like most, you know me as, Sophie. This year I have been blessed to be able to participate in the Student of the Year campaign for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). It is a student-led fundraiser for LLS to raise money, spread awareness, and build leadership skills.  I am honored to be a part of this worthy cause and to be a part of such a wonderful team known as Project: Hope. 

I chose to participate in LLS because I want to give back to children diagnosed with blood cancer. Their lives have been forever changed and if I can be a part of this wonderful opportunity, I will do anything possible to help improve the quality of life of these children. As a child, I was lucky enough to be able to live a normal life. Meanwhile, there were children living in hospital beds with little to no hope. I want to help fight and find a cure in any possible way I can. Big or small, I want to make a change.

Every 3 minutes someone is diagnosed with blood cancer, and every 9 minutes someone dies from the disease. Since 1949, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society has done some astonishing work such as funding 15 out of the 18 FDA-approved treatments in 2017, as well as investing $1.2 billion towards extensive blood cancer research. However, LLS has not been able to complete its main goal-- finding a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, and Hodgkin’s disease-- which we can do with YOUR help.

I am sending you this email to ask for your support in this LLS goal of ours and also in an attempt to help bring hope and positivity to all of our patients. For the past eight months, my team and I have been working nonstop planning events, reaching out to others, and so much more!
