Dear Family and Friends, 

This is Gianna Heuer, many of you may know me as Gigi. As you may or may not have known, this year I have been given the amazing opportunity to be apart of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Students of the Year campaign. The Students of the Year campaign is a leadership development program for high school students to become involved in raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and to raise awareness about blood cancers. Blood cancer is a serious disease that needs your help. Every 3 minutes someone is diagnosed with a blood cancer and every 9 minutes someone dies due to a blood cancer disease. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) has been a large contributor to helping find a cure. Currently 15 out of 18 treatments are funded by LLS. We need everyone’s help to keep funding research and finding cures especially for children suffering from blood cancer.

I am currently a sophomore at Saint Francis Catholic High School. I have been chosen among 17 other students to be on a fundraising team. The campaign will last 7 weeks, starting February 13, 2020 and ending April 3, 2020. Together we are extremely motivated and will put all our effort into raising as much money as we can to reach our team goal of $85,000. Your donation would be greatly appreciated and anything helps! Below is the link to our fundraising website. Every dollar counts and gives hope to blood cancer patients across the United States including our Honored Hero, Toben. Toben is 7 years old and was diagnosed with B cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on August 19, 2016. He will conclude his treatment completely on December 9, 2019 and we look forward to celebrating with him throughout the campaign. Donate for kids like Toben so there can be faster treatments to help children return to their lives and be able to live them like normal kids. My team and I would really appreciate your donation.
