It's time to officially kick off my fundraising campaign for the Scenic Shore 150. This is my second year doing this ride to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Last year I did the ride because it sounded fun. This year I'm returning because I've become part of a team of awesome cyclists committed to the sport and committed to the cause. The Lymphomaniacs have become a big part of my cycling family and I truly enjoy the time we spend together on and off the bike.
This pandemic has caused some significant changes to the event, but has not slowed cancer. The fundraising must continue to find a cure. This year I'm riding in honor of Bill, Tom, and Harry. Three friends who have fought Leukemia over the last year. As usual, I also ride in honor or memory of friends and family who have battled cancer.
On September 5, 2020, the Lymphomaniacs will be hosting their own socially distanced version of the Scenic Shore 150. Last year, you helped me raise over $1000 dollars and reach "Sprinter" status. This year, I increased my goal to $2500 in hopes of being a "King of the Shore". The Lymphomaniacs have a team goal of $150,000. I'm confident, that with your help, this team of incredible people will exceed our goal.
Please consider making a donation to the cause. If your donation is for someone you know who has fought cancer, I will gladly carry their name with me as inspiration. My intent is to ride a minimum of 75 miles. If I raise $1000 I will ride 100 miles. If I reach my goal of $2500, I will do 150 miles.
Those that know me well, know I often make bad choices and succumb to peer pressure. Who knows what I could be convinced to do if I exceed my goal.
All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS research but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well.
Please visit my Web site often and bring friends who would also like to donate!
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere I thank you for your support!
