Welcome To The Club Tread Fundraising Page-
In 2017 our then 25 year old son was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Cancer, like many things in life, is something most everyone is aware of, but until touched personally, not really understood. Fortunately, our son was the beneficiary of many years of research and I am happy to report that after six months of chemo-therapy, he was in remission.
Everyone has a different journey when it comes to cancer and we learned that it does in fact take a team to navigate the journey. Whether you are a patient, spouse, parent, sibling, family member, or friend, everyone has a role to play.
I am an avid bike rider and through some colleagues at work heard of the Scenic Shore 150. In 2018 I signed up to ride and Susan signed up to volunteer at one of the rest stops. We were absolutely amazed at the size, scope, and commitment of those involved. Right then and there Club Tread was born! We started recruiting other "solo" riders and Club Tread started to grow! Club Tread is open to anyone who wants to join in this fight against cancer and to be part of a team in pursuit of that journey.
More specifically, our mission, like that of the SS150, is to help raise money and awareness for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) while at the same time biking and enjoying the beautiful scenic shores of Lake Michigan.
I think one of the most important things Susan and I have learned since our journey began is that 85% of research is funded through private donations! That's a staggering amount, so please join us in supporting LLS by making a donation to our fundraising campaign or joining Club Tread. Thanks to your support, our efforts, will help fund the therapies and treatments and help save lives today.
We really are changing the face of blood cancer!
All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS research but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well.
Please visit the Club Tread Fundraising site often and bring friends who would also like to donate or ride!
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere we thank you for your support!
