Jerry Dall McCannon died peacefully in his home at The Last Resort on September 2nd, 2015 in Allyn, Washington at the age of 75.  He was surrounded by his family.

Dall is survived by his wife Sally, his four children Jeff (Stacy) ,Teresa (Phil), Troy and Jill (Dustin), his eight grandchildren Stephanie, Pamela, Ashley, Austin, Salina, Katie, Jordan and Danny, and three great-grandchildren Elizabeth, Dade, and Violet.  He is also survived by his brother Dick. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Vivian, and his brothers Tex and David (Jan).

Dall was born on December 14, 1939 in Rocky, Oklahoma to Vivian and John McCannon. He graduated from University of Illinois with a PhD in Electrical Engineering. He married Sally Rae Grandon, in 1960 and they celebrated close to 55 years of marriage. Dall was a Retired Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force.  He was a Pilot who flew KC-135’s and served during the Vietnam War flying C-7’s.  After retiring from the military in 1982, he worked at BDM and then Boeing as an Electrical Engineer.  His children remember their father as someone who always had an answer to their questions.  He was like a walking encyclopedia.  Although some answers were suspect, and family would rightfully call them 90/10ers.

Dall had many hobbies in his life from polishing rocks, collecting stamps, finding Earth Caches, playing Bejeweled or Bricks on his computer, or working with wood.  In his final months, Dall enjoyed working his wood lathe making toothpick holders, bowls, candle sticks and most recently started making Cribbage boards.

Dall and Sally built their current home, “The Last Resort” for their retirement.  This is the place that they have family and friends gather together and enjoy each other and all of the things they loved.  Their family, garden, animals, the beautiful view, and time together.

A funeral service is scheduled for 10 am on September 8th at All Saints Lutheran.  27225 Military Road South, Auburn WA 98001.

Followed by a military burial at Tahoma National Cemetery.  18600 SE 240th Street, Kent, WA 98042.

Lastly, a reception at Tom and Jan Barrett’s home that afternoon at 32535 223rd Ave SE, Black Diamond, WA 98010

From Sally:

You are always in my thoughts,
Your love is still my guide,
And though I cannot touch your hand,
I know you are by my side.
