Ruthie's Fundraising Event
for her PJA Capstone Project
:
Want to join me in supporting a good cause? Every year the 8th graders at Portland Jewish Academy do a Capstone Project made up of three parts; a service project, a research paper, and a drash (a piece of Jewish learning). For my Capstone service project I am raising money and awareness for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. What inspired me to get involved with this issue is my dad. He has Chronic Myeliod Leukemia (CML) and thankfully is alive today because of Dr. Brian Druker and his drug called Gleevec, which he took for thirteen years. He has been off the medicine for about four years and is doing great! Cancer is huge problem but I decided to focus in on Luekemia and Lymphoma because of my father.
Your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate $5 or $500. Every little bit helps. Thank you for your support, I really appreciate it!
The LLS mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world and provides free information and support services.
Thank you!
Sincerely,
Ruthie Zeidman
