I recently teamed up with Taki Gikakis, who is running for the National Capital Area Chapter's Man of the Year title, to raise as much as possible in a 10-week fundraising competition.

25 years ago this month, as a junior at Kingwood High school, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. With the support of my family and friends, as well as the legendary doctors and staff at MD Anderson, I beat back the beast of cancer, and was in remission for the next few decades.
As a special silver anniversary surprise, the beast has returned!
A few weeks ago, I was diagnosed with Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma, and again am lucky enough to have the support of my amazing family, incredible friends, and the great doctors and staff at MD Anderson Cancer Center! (All of my brothers shaved their head in support of my treatment!!!) I started chemo on February 24th, and the treatment worked quickly.
Several of you have helped volunteer with me at The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society over the years, as well as helped donate to the cause of fighting cancer, and I appreciate everyone’s generosity. I can’t help but think that I am now reaping the benefits of our efforts and contributions to the LLS, as well as all of the research programs and doctors that have made great advances in cancer research in the last 25 years.
I have won the trilogy lottery as a cancer patient: Great family, great friends, and great doctors. Let’s see how much money we can raise for those who aren’t as lucky!
Thanks!
