Join us on October 19th at 5PM EST!
SAIC’s CEO, Nazzic Keene, will team up with Patrick Bazin, owner and executive chef of Bazin’s on Church in Vienna, Va. Bazin’s is a Northern Va. staple, and the Bazins have been personal friends to Nazzic and her family for many years.
Joined by Nazzic in his restaurant, Chef Patrick Bazin will serve up a three-course meal in just one hour. The meal will include an appetizer, entrée, and dessert, each with suggested wine pairings. We will provide recipes after the event so you can wow your very own guests and family with your new cooking techniques. During the cooking event you’ll have the opportunity to participate in an “ask the chef” Q&A where you can ask Chef Bazin your most pressing food, wine, and entertaining questions.
Price: $25 donation – Donate $25 under "Donate Now" on the right side of this screen. Once you donate, you are registered and we will send you details for logging into the event closer to the date. All proceeds are tax deductible and benefit The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Meet Chef Patrick Bazin:
With over 35 years in the restaurant business, Chef Bazin certainly has a passion for food. His ability to create work environments that allow creativity and demand the highest quality standards has resulted in successful restaurants with a very tight-knit group of dedicated, long-term employees. Prior to opening his own restaurants, Patrick spent 7 years as Executive Chef at The Occidental restaurant in Washington, DC. Patrick is best known for his natural reduction sauces, flavored oils, childes, vegetable juices, vinaigrettes, roasted vegetable purees and plate designs. Has also strong knowledge of pastries, desserts, sausages, and breads. After recently being diagnosed with Celiac’s Disease – Patrick has now made gluten-free a top priority. Reflected on the menus at both restaurants, Chef Bazin’s gluten-free options allow patrons who are gluten-intolerant to continue to enjoy dining out without restriction. Bazin’s on Church was named a “National Treasure"by Tom Seitsema, has been voted as one of the Top 50 Restaurants by the Washington Post and has been named as one of the Top 25 Restaurants by Northern Virginia Magazine 7 years in a row. In January of 2014, Bazin’s on Church (formerly Alegria) was named a Top 100 Restaurant by the Washingtonian.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society:
Please join us in supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) by making a donation to our fundraising campaign. Your support will help fund the therapies and treatments and help save lives today.
LLS's continued advancements over the years, are responsible for the blood cancer survival rate doubling and tripling; in some cases, the survival rate has even quadrupled. And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers. They're even being tested in clinical trials for patients with a range of cancers including lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. LLS funded drugs are now being tested for patients with other non-cancerous diseases like Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Multiple Sclerosis.
We really are changing the face of blood cancer!
All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS research but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well.
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere I thank you for your support!
