On December 21st, 2011, Nicole Cooper, wife of our friend and teammate Mike, lost her battle with Leukemia. Nicole was a bright light for all of her friends and family. She brought laughter and warmth to every situation and understood what was truly important in life. Simple things brought her the most joy and she understood that people were more important than possessions. She found comfort and happiness being surrounded by an army of friends and family. She was selfless, thoughtful, loving and warm – she would drop anything to help a friend.
In memory of Nicole and in support of Mike, the Jones Day Whale and the Beer Bistro Hockey Club are hosting the Second Annual Nicole Cooper Memorial Hockey Game. The teams will square off in an outdoor hockey game at Soldier Field on February 13th and will also host a fundraising event on February 6th at Beer Bistro North in Lincoln Park. All proceeds from our fundraising efforts will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Prior years' events have been a huge success and a lot of fun, so we hope that each of you can help us continue the tradition by participating and/or donating to this incredible cause.

The Cause
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society funds research across the continuum, from basic research through clinical trials, from bench to bedside. To date, LLS has invested more than $1 billion in research to advance therapies and save lives.
