Dear friend,

Having landed here, I thank you for showing up — and for joining the fight to save thousands of lives in the fight against blood cancers. During the coronavirus outbreak, patients urgently need our help.

I invite you to take action with me by supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and its lifesaving mission by making a contribution today.

We are calling on all life-changers to raise $20,000+ as part of our #LLSxAcertitude campaign starting this “Giving Tuesday” May 5.

My personal commitment to you: matching all your donations up to $10,000.

Your contribution will therefore make twice the impact and provide immediate relief for blood cancer patients today. To make a secure online donation, click the “Donate Now” button (on mobile, scroll to bottom of page). All donations are tax deductible.

Care for true heroes.

LLS is working tirelessly to provide the true heroes of the pandemic — patients and caregivers — with special COVID-19 resources to help manage new challenges and risks during this crisis. This includes a new Patient Financial Aid program for all blood cancer patients affected in any way by COVID-19.

Meanwhile, many of LLS’ major fundraising events have been canceled or postponed. So we must rally together virtually to keep caring for those in need.

Health is everything.

I am personally inspired to make a difference through LLS, knowing the tragedy and loss that ensues. Two of my childhood friends died of leukemia. Both fought hard and bravely, but the right treatments didn’t yet exist. I remember how helpless their parents were, and now that I am a parent, I can only imagine enduring such tragedy. This moves me nearly 40 years later.

Even with significant advances in treatment, blood cancer is the number one killer of children in the U.S. and the most common cancer among young people. It is not enough to count our blessings. We need to share our blessings with others. Through our contributions, we have the power to create a world without blood cancers. There is no time to waste where childhood cancer is concerned. This suffering needs to end… and now.

We got this.

In 2016, I was humbled to be honored as the local LLS Man of the Year. Together with your help, we raised over $154,000 back then — so I know we got this. If you donated during my man of the year campaign, I thank you again. That was enough funding to support 77 weeks of research for an LLS-funded expert in the blood cancer field or to help over 300 patients defray the costs of treatment-related travel to access the best treatment possible.

Pictured with me are two remarkable children who illustrate the potential of what we can accomplish, working together. Nick and Grace were our local LLS’ Boy and Girl of the Year because they courageously faced cancer and won.

Please join us in making a difference for all blood cancer patients who face this aggressive form of cancer, especially during this incredibly tough and uncertain time.

Thanks to organizations like LLS, major treatment advances have resulted in an 80% survival rate over five years for children with blood cancer, but we can’t reach 100% without your generous, tax-deductible support. So join our fight to save a life not someday, but today.

On behalf of patients and survivors, their families, and team LLS x Acertitude, thank you.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Kevin
