Team's Student Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser
Hi everyone,
As your Student Visionary of the Year candidates, we are thrilled to share why we’re deeply passionate about raising funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). LLS is more than just a non-profit; they're the leading force in the fight against blood cancers. For decades, they've made monumental strides in research, thanks to the unwavering support of dedicated donors like you.
Did you know? LLS is the largest non-profit funder of blood cancer research in the world. They have invested over $1.3 billion in research since its inception. This unprecedented commitment has led to the development of life-saving treatments from chemotherapy to groundbreaking CAR T-cell immunotherapy, and significantly improved the quality of life for countless patients battling these devastating diseases.
This fight is personal to us because we have had families who were affected by blood cancers, and we want to make sure that no other families have to suffer. By joining us in this campaign, you'll be directly contributing to LLS's mission of curing leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease, and myeloma. This is a mission we can achieve together, and every step forward brings us closer to a world free from blood cancers.
For more information about cancer research, you can visit the LLS website at: https://www.lls.org/lls-research
Stay tuned for more updates about our campaign and exciting ways you can get involved in making a difference!
Happy Kickoff,
Your Co-Candidates: Adrian, Izzy, and Cole

Team FACT (Fighting Against Cancer Together), comprised of three dedicated candidates - Izzy, Cole, and Adrian - alongside over 10 passionate teammates from Sunset High School and Catlin Gabel, stands united in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign. Fueled by compassion and a drive to make a difference, they're raising critical funds to accelerate research and provide support for blood cancer patients and their families.
Meet the core candidates:
- Izzy: As a previous member of LLS last year, being able to lead a team which can help fund research to find a cure to cancer is something that I was very interested in. Through LLS, I am able to make a difference in other peoples lives and want to help patients and their families.
- Cole: As someone who has family members affected by cancer, I've seen how much pain it can cause. I joined LLS to ensure that no one would have to endure that heartbreak unnecessarily.
- Adrian: I was originally a team member back in 2022, and I have been raising money as a candidate ever since. I saw the impact that LLS has on families and patients, and want to continue to bring change in this way!
This diverse team leverages the strengths of each member, bringing together creativity, leadership, and unwavering dedication. Their collaboration transcends school boundaries, as Sunset High and Catlin Gabel students unite under a common purpose.
Team FACT's mission is more than just fundraising. They aim to educate their peers and community about the realities of blood cancer, fostering empathy and inspiring action. Their efforts go beyond the campaign period, building lasting connections and empowering others to join the fight.
