Students of the Year Omaha
Brad Agostino | Dream Team
Welcome to Brad Agostino's SOY Fundraising Page!
My name is Bradley Agostino and I am a sophomore at Skutt Catholic High School in Omaha, Nebraska. I was recently nominated for participation in The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) 2020 Students of the Year campaign. This is a seven-week fundraising campaign that runs from January 12 through March 1, 2020. Several people have volunteered to help me raise funds and have joined our team – called The Dream Team. We selected this name because our dream is to find a cure! The entire team is working hard to reach our fundraising goal of $40,000.
Why would a high school student busy with schoolwork, playing on the school basketball team, and hanging with friends be interested in participating in this campaign? I recently had the honor of meeting a little boy named Caysen Courtright. Caysen was diagnosed with leukemia in the summer of 2018. He was in the hospital from August 6-18, 2018, receiving treatment. While he was fighting for his life, Caysen became a big brother to his sister Tatum. Caysen is currently in remission, but still must endure the maintenance phase of treatment. He has gone through so much, but as you can see from this picture, he is a fighter with an amazing attitude and is truly an inspiration. Caysen inspired me to want to help him and others like him.
LLS has truly made a difference in Caysen’s life and that of his family. The Courtright family is growing, with another baby on the way. LLS has provided financial and emotional assistance and support throughout Caysen’s journey, ultimately improving their quality of life.
The LLS has donated over $1.2 billion for cancer research. In the last decade, over 40% of the cancer treatments and drugs came from LLS funded research, which is not only being used to treat blood cancer patients, but also those affected by other cancers and diseases, such as breast and liver cancers, multiple sclerosis and Alzheimer’s disease.
I am asking you to help find a cure so that Caysen and others like him don’t have to go through this! You can support The Dream Team in several different ways and all donations are 100% tax deductible (LLS tax ID #:13-5644916).
- Sponsorship
- Purchasing an ad in the Gala program
- Donating items for auction
- Making a donation to LLS via my fundraising website https://events.lls.org/ne/nebraskasoy20/bagostino I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you very much for your generosity and for joining us in making a difference in the lives of patients like Caysen!
- A QR Code is also available (below) for your convenience.
- P.S. Does your company have a matching gift program that might be willing to match your donation?
Sincerely,
Bradley Agostino
