We are visionaries; we have a vision for a world without cancer.

We are Team Captains For A Cure! We are a team lead by co-candidates Emma Pearson (a junior at Loudoun County High School who loves music and rowing) and Cat Pizzarello (also a junior at LCHS who loves running and reading). We have five team members, Madison Ruff (another junior at LCHS who is apart of the SCA and plays volleyball), Sophie Webb (a freshman at LCHS who plays softball and is a part of FBLA at County), Dex Holt (also a junior at LCHS who is in a band and loves music), Stephanie Martin (Emma's aunt who loves tattoos and shoes), and Sami Pearson (Emma's sister who plays softball and loves dogs). We are a team of seven amazing people who are all joining together in the fight to cure blood cancer! But we can't do it alone, we need your help!

This year, we're proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission.

As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:

• Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
• Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
• Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.
