It’s week 5 out of 7 of our Student Visionaries of the Year campaign! I am unbelievably thankful and grateful for every single person who has donated to my campaign. WEEK 4!! Woah can’t believe it’s already been 4 out of the 7 weeks of this campaign. Except today is a very special day; today, Sunday, February 4th is World Cancer Day. On this day, all over the world people are bringing awareness and attention for the fight against cancer.  LLS, specifically, has helped to advance 75% of FDA-approved blood cancer treatment options & is currently focused on transforming treatment and care for kids with The Dare to Dream Project.  My team and I are very proud to be a part of what LLS is doing to fight blood cancers. 

Team Barons Battling Cancer has made great progress towards our $40,000 goal, but we still have work to do before the Grand Finale on March 2nd. If you have already donated, I am extremely thankful and grateful for you. You are helping me continue to help fundraise and raise awareness for this important cause.

This is my 3rd week of my campaign! It has been a great experience so far. Not only have I been leading a team of 8 for the first time, but I’ve been learning how to become a better leader. I am so excited to keep campaigning and fundraising. I have a set goal of raising $10,000; however, I have a smaller goal of raising $5,000 before February 9th. I need your help to reach that goal! Hi family and friends,

I am in week 2 of my intense 7-week campaign, and I have learned so much already! For my campaign, my personal connection would be my grandfather and a BCC teacher, both of whom passed away due to blood cancer. I am honoring their memory through my campaign. One big thing I have learned is that anything is possible with the support of friends and family, and we truly can make a difference!

The student team that raises the most money is named Student Visionaries of the Year. Our team’s goal is to raise $40,000. My team and I have been working very hard and have raised 20% of our goal so far!! All proceeds support LLS’s goal of ensuring access to cures and treatments for blood cancer patients.

Last year, the Washington, DC chapter raised $2.9 million for this campaign in just 7 weeks! Collectively, the 50 LLS chapters across the country who participated in this campaign raised more than $20 million. 

Funds raised are making a huge impact on blood cancers, but we still have a long way to go. Survival rates for some forms of childhood leukemia have risen from 3% in 1960 to nearly 90% today. However, incidences of lymphoma are on the rise, and leukemia still causes more deaths among children than any other cancer.

Dear Friends & Family, 

I’m very excited to share with you that I am participating in the 2024 Student Visionaries of the Year campaign as a candidate! As some of you may know, I was a team member last year on Team 15 Soldiers. I am so excited to tell you that I have started my own campaign, leading my own team. Over the next 7 weeks, I will be working to raise money and awareness for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and their mission to cure blood cancers. 💪💪 

It’s an honor to be a part of such an outstanding group of fellow students, but an even larger honor to be able to work for the patients, survivors and their families.  I am fundraising in honor/memory of my grandfather, who passed away due to lymphoma, and Mr. Palafox who passed away due to leukemia. I will go into greater depth about their stories in my next email.  

My personal goal is to raise $10,000 between January 13th and March 2nd. It’s a lofty goal, but I am willing to work hard to reach it. I cannot do it alone; I need your help! There are a few ways you can support my fundraising efforts:
