Hello! My name is Salomé Leon, daughter of Alexandra Morel. I am a sophomore at the National Cathedral School. This year, I am proud to be a part of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign through NCS's Close Conquers Cancer team. I am dedicating my time to raise as much as possible for LLS research, to help patients and survivors. While my family was not directly affected by blood cancer, in 2012, my mother was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Just being four years old, I wasn’t able to support my mother or even fully comprehend what she was going through. Being a part of LLS is an honor. I am now able to help make a difference for the better in someone’s life and help in a way that I couldn’t in the past. 

As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:

• Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
• Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
