Welcome to Neela Minesinger's SOY Fundraising Page!

Today is a global wide initiative that unites the entire world in the battle against cancer. Although LLS is based in the United States, the dollars I’m raising will help blood cancer patients all over the globe.  Did you know that, outside of the United States, LLS funds 19 researchers in 7 different countries?

In honor of World Cancer Day, and the 8.2 million people affected by cancer globally, I am asking you to support my Students of the Year campaign so that, together, we can help put an end to cancer. Please support my challenge by making a personal donation and by passing this message on to others.

Help Us Reach Our Goal!!

Jan 25, 2018

We are coming up on week 3 and still need your help! We are off to a good start, however, we still need your help to reach our goal and to support LLS's lifesaver mission. The 2018 Student of the Year campaign is in honor of Lance Bigelow, a cancer survivor. He was diagnosed at 2 with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) and has been in remission for almost 12 years now. Please donate to support childern like Lance and his family!

Welcome To My Fundraising Page!

I am honored to have been accepted as a candidate in the 2018 Students of the Year program, a seven-week initiative in which select high school students from around the country participate in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

I am raising critical dollars in honor of a young patient hero who is currently battling or is in remission from a blood cancer. Each dollar is a vote. The candidate team who raises the most money at the end of the seven weeks is named Student of the Year. My mission is to not only raise the most money but also to bring attention to blood cancers like leukemia, which is the most common form of cancer in children and teens.

Since the early 1960s, five-year survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled or even quadrupled. LLS supports therapies not only to help blood cancer patients but are helping patients with other cancers and serious diseases. In fact, drugs first approved for blood cancers are now approved to treat patients with stomach cancers, skin cancers, and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis. My grandpa was diagnosed with a brain tumor a couple of years ago and had to go through chemothearpy. The tumor did decrease, however, he still lives with it everyday. With all these new breakthroughs wiht blood cancer research hopefully it will lead to curing all cancers.

We really are changing the face of blood cancer!

All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.

Please visit our website often and bring friends who would also like to donate!

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere I thank you for your support!
