We are honored to have been nominated for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) 2020 Students of the Year campaign. Our team name is Team Cure It!
We are reaching out to ask you to support our campaign and ask you to partner with us to end cancer. LLS ensures that patients can access needed treatments for blood cancers. LLS also funds research to find a cure. Did you know that every 3 minutes someone is diagnosed with blood cancer? Did you also know that LLS is the largest donor for blood cancer research in the nation? I'm very motivated to lead Team Cure It! to support LLS and end blood cancers and all cancers.
Each of us has a family member or close friend impacted by cancer. It's a horrible disease and I hate it. I have had multiple family members who have battled cancer. I have also watched a close family friend struggle through cancer treatments to fight. We need to Cure It!
Sophia is especially motivated to help find a cure for cancer because she has seen family members and family friends go through the struggle of having cancer. It has made her sad to watch them fight through all of their bad days. She has witnessed the effects of what cancer does to families. Sophia's best friend's mom had cancer and she knows how it affected them. Her friend felt sad a lot because she wasn't sure how to help her mom. Their family still talks a lot about the tough times and what they went through.
We are grateful for this once in a lifetime opportunity to turn our motivation, passion, and hope into action. Your generous donation will ensure patients will receive medicine and support. It will also find a cure so none of us need to lose anymore loved ones to this disease.
