Cece Gonzalez | Team cuRED's Campaign

Welcome to Cece Gonzalez's SOY Fundraising Page!

Feb 07, 2019

Hello and Welcome to My Fundraising Page!

My name is Cece Gonzalez and I am currently a junior at Mercy High School SF. I am representing not only my school, Mercy SF High School, but also as a member of its medical program, Women in Science and Health (WISH). I am honored to participate in the 2019 Students of the Year program, a seven-week initiative in which select high school students from around the country participate in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I am proud to be raising critical dollars in honor this year's young patient hero, Graham Morgan. Graham was unfortunatly diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in June 2016. He is currently five years old and is still fighting as his treatment will be complete in August 2019! Each dollar is a vote and the candidate team that raises the most money at the end of the seven weeks is named Student(s) of the Year. Our team cuRED's goal is to raise $30,000 for those impacted by cancer. Our mission is to not only raise the most money but also to bring attention to blood cancers like leukemia, which is the most common form of cancer in children and teens.

I have reached out to you because I believe that you can be the difference in our world! Like most people in our world today, I have been surrounded by both friends and family who have been diagnosed and are still battling with cancer. Some who are sadly not with me today. My experiences further motivate me to campaign for the fight against cancer, but specifically blood cancer. Every 3 minutes one person in the United States is diagnosed with blood cancer and every 9 minutes someone dies. We shouldn't live in a world where this statistic is our unfortunate truth. However, knowing that there are people out there, like you, who are contributing to the fight against cancer is motivating because it gives me hope that one day a cure for cancer will be found.

There are a few different ways that you can contribute to this cause! A few ways that you can help me:

  1. Please stay on this link to donate to my fundraising page (https://events.lls.org/gba/bayareasoy19/cgonzalez)

  2. If you prefer to mail a check, please make it out to “LLS” with my name in the memo line and send to:

ATTN:
Caleigh Bemont

101 Montgomery St. Suite 750

San Francisco CA 94104

     3. Share my message and fundraising link with your contacts through email and or social media.

We really are changing the face of blood cancer! All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. Since the early 1960s, five-year survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled or even quadrupled. Many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are helping patients with other cancers and serious diseases. In fact, drugs first approved for blood cancers are now approved to treat patients with stomach cancers, skin cancers, and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis. Again, Please remember that no donation is ever too small or too large! All proceeds go toward finding a cure for blood cancer to improve the quality of patients and their families, such as Graham. Your donations will not only support LLS-funded research, but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.

Please visit our website often and bring friends who would also like to donate! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at cgonzalez2020@mercyhs.org

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you so much for your support! Your donation will truly make a difference in our world today and gives hope for a future closer to a cure for blood cancers.

Sincerely,

Cece Gonzalez

Thank you for fund raising to help beat cancer! My nephew, Luke, was 4 when he passed away in 2012. He was a fighter & is missed every day of every year. We'll keep Graham in our thoughts.
