Who We Are & What We Are Doing

Jan 09, 2022

In 2015, Christian Malmgren was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma; following his devastating diagnosis, in 2018, his doctors informed him that he had been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, also known as AML. AML is a type of blood cancer that pollutes the blood and bone marrow with excess immature white blood cells. Despite his draining treatments, Christian fought a long and arduous journey, never giving up and touching the lives of hundreds of people along the way, many of which include members of our very own team. On November 24, 2021, we learned of the devastating news of Christian’s passing. Christian was a dreamer with many hopes for the future that cancer took away from him. Our goal as a team is to raise $75,000 for people suffering from forms of blood cancer, like Christian, so they can have the chance to fulfill their dreams.

We are excited and eager to share the news with you that we have the opportunity to participate in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Students of the Year Program. Students of the Year is a 7-week philanthropic competition for high school leaders seeking to impact the fight against cancer. This is of utmost importance because of Christian’s passing and so many other young adults affected by blood cancer. We are motivated by those affected and hope to aid The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) in their fight against cancer.

According to LLS, “an estimated 54,025 children and adolescents younger than 20 years in the U.S.” are battling a form of blood cancer. We are reaching out today to ask for your support in the fight against blood cancer to prevent the youth of America from being affected by this terrible disease.

You can join us in support by participating or supporting one of the following fundraising efforts:

  • Share our message and fundraising link to help further spread the message of this incredible cause

  • Help us secure a corporate sponsorship

  • Donate to our Fundraising Page

Being a part of this fantastic cause is not only a learning experience for us as students but a way for us to be a small part of LLS’s fight against blood cancer. We are ecstatic to see what our team can accomplish this year and will be sharing updates with you in the weeks to come.

Until a cure,

Millie Migliore, Elle Toth, and  Gianna Toth
