Hi everybody!!

Welcome to my 7 week journey to raise money for blood cancer research! I dedicate my project to my family friend, Evan Marra. 

I met Evan when he was only a few days old, his big sister, Eileen was already like (and still is) a little sister to me and I was so excited to get a new brother. I remember getting to hold him on my lap and let him grab onto my finger so tightly. 

It seems like only yesterday, but before my eyes he grew up into a toddler, little boy, and now a 10 year old! The days fly by and everyday Evan shows me how energetic and lovable he is. He and I used to play with my Japanese erasers for HOURS on end, because he loved taking them apart and putting them back together. I cherish those memories.

When he got diagnosed with AML, acute myeloid leukemia, which affects the myeloid which normally makes the white and red blood cells as well as the platelets. By affecting this area, his myeloblasts become abnormal and take up room so there is not enough room for the healthy blood cells, leaving his body vulnerable.

There was so much I wanted to do and help, but during a pandemic there is only so much. So I researched what AML was, so I could know what Evan was going through. He is so strong and his mom posted many wonderful updates so I could see him getting better. 

There are so many more I want to help, but I can’t do it all on my own, I need some help from all of you! By spreading the word, posting on social media, or donating towards the cause, we can reach LLS’s goal to be the generation to end cancer.
