Last Friday we had a great turnout at our Male Pageant (Mr. CHS) Show! Thank you to everyone who came out to support us, and a big thank you to Joe Scott, Daniel Sandfelder, Casen Conway, Pablo Lopez, Bill Barton, Caden Herring, Tariq Parkings, and Anthony Scoma for volunteering to compete in the pageant. Without these guys and all of our amazing volunteers, this event wouldn't have been possible. Also, a special thanks to our guest judges from Miss Greater Atlanta, and to Kaylee Finlay and Elika Upadhyay for running sound and lights for the show.

Overall, everyone really enjoyed seeing the participants come out and have a good time from the beginning dance scene all the way to the crowning of Mr. CHS. The swimsuit, formal wear, and talent sections of the pageant showed the audience the guys sense of humor as well as what they thought qualified them as Mr. CHS. At the end of the night Caden Herring was crowned Mr. CHS, and Tariq Parkings won the fan favorite vote by getting the most money donated in his name. The pageant was a lot of fun, and will hopefully be the start of a new tradition at Centennial.

We hosted a successful Trivia Night this year. We were expecting a few more people to show up, but that didn't slow us down. We were able to quiz people on general trivia in the categories of Geography, Art, History, Science, Entertainment and Sports. We also had raffle prizes that were a big hit. Overall, the night was very successful. We would like to thank everyone who participated and volunteered.

On February 25th, we went to Hillside Elementary School to talk about our fundraiser to the Cub Scouts of Pack 199. We presented a small PowerPoint with a photo of James, the honored hero. We also showed the video of Eva, which really went well because Eva was about the same age as the scouts. We also set out a donation box and we were able to raise more money than expected just in one night. We had a lovely time speaking to all the young scouts.

Mira is also aware that her eyes are closed in the photo.

We have finally started our fundraiser. Everything has been going well so far, except for a few minor bumps in the road. The first event that we have planned is a Trivia Night on January 22nd, 2016. All the proceeds will go to our fundraiser. There will be general trivia plus raffle prizes. A teacher at our school even donated some pizzas for us to sell at the concession stand. We greatly appreciate everyone who is helping us put together this event and we are looking forward to a successful night. cheeky

Hello all,

We are so excited about Kickoff starting in less than a week. We have been planning and planning since September of 2015 and now everything seems to be falling into place. We have been sending many emails and having meetings with many important people. At the end of last year, We, along with our campaign manager Elika, were able to meet with the principal of our school about this competition. She is so excited for us and she is very impressed with our planning.

Today, we were able to meet with Representative Sharon Cooper of District 43 of Georgia. She gave us some great advice. She is even helping us get in touch with the representative of our district. We hope to meet some of these people in the near future. Having these meetings are really helping us spread awareness for not only our campaign, but also for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, as an organization.

Representative Cooper was actually a former Registered Nurse and is currently a Chairman for Health and Human Services. She was able to stress the high costs associated with eliminating cancer, which reminded us of the importance of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

We are so grateful to Representative Cooper for her wonderful advice and first donation. We would also like to thank Debra Stokes for helping us organize this meeting and giving us some wonderful suggestions as we get ready for the weeks ahead.

God bless you on your journeys to do good in the world.

Olivia, Thank you for being involved with such a great organization and working to make "Someday is Today" a reality. LLS found the cure for my rare Hairy Cell Leukemia and I am thrilled to support your cause. All the best to meet your goals and everything you do to eliminate blood cancers. Although I can't be there in Georgia fundraising with you, I will certainly spread the word throughout my network of friends and associates. As always, all the best, Alan.
