Team's Students of the Year Fundraiser
Welcome To Our Fundraising Page.
We are Paris Brown, Sarah Fiorina and Abbie Griffith; all seniors at the Butler Senior High School. We are honored to be given the amazing opportunity to be a part of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Student of the Year (SOY) Fundraiser! We are honored to carry on the legacy after being team members for our friends Anna Baxter & Paige Williams last year in their Students of the Year campaign! The initiative will take place from February 5th to March 26th, 2021. During these seven weeks our goal is not only to raise money to fund for LLS research but also to bring awareness and support to the families affected by blood cancer every year.
We have decided to participate in LLS Student of the Year in honor of our friend, Tyler Fazio. Tyler is a member of our high school’s Best Buddies club; a club which promotes inclusion among individuals with and without disabilities. This club means so much to all of us and has allowed us to form amazing friendships, one of them being with Tyler. Tyler was diagnosed with Nodular Lymphocyte Predominant Hodgkin’s Lymphoma last year. We are so lucky Tyler was able to beat it! It amazes us how positive and selfless Tyler was throughout his entire journey. We want to be able to continue to raise money, awareness, and support for those who are suffering from the same experiences our friend Tyler once did.
We are so fortunate to work with our team, Team We’ve Got CUREage, who is just as passionate about the fight for cancer.
Blood cancers account for more than 40% of all childhood cancers. Most children are being treated with the same toxic chemotherapies developed decades ago for adults. LLS has created the LLS Children’s initiative with a commitment to expand their investment in research and therapies to help children diagnosed with cancer to not only survive, but thrive in their lives after treatment. We want to be the generation to cure cancer, but we need your help.
Each charitable dollar you contribute to our campaign will make a great difference. One hundred percent of these funds go directly to LLS to support their mission of finding a cure for Leukemia, Lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease, and Myeloma and to improve the quality of life for the patients and families. LLS is not only helping patients with blood cancers, but is going beyond blood cancer by funding more than 60% of blood cancer therapies being used to treat other cancers. We are passionate about supporting cancer research in honor of Tyler and hope you will join us by supporting LLS today!
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere I thank you for your support!
