Mia's Students of the Year Fundraiser

Feb 05, 2021

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page,

Welcome to my fundraising page! I’m honored and excited to help my sister Neena Pietropaolo and her friend Bella in the 2021 Students of the Year program. This is a 7 week initiative in which select high school students from around the country participate in a fundraising competition to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The mission is not to only raise the most money, but bring attention to blood cancers like Leukemia, which is the most common form of cancer in children and teens. My grandfather (Nonno), Nicola Pietropaolo passed away in July 2020 after fighting Chronic Leukemia Lymphoma (CLL) for 11 years. Nonno went through radiation, chemo and was eventually put on a chemo pill. These treatments worked so well that everyone (including myself) forgot he even had the disease to begin with. His disease was slowly transforming into a more aggressive form called Acute Leukemia Lymphoma (ALL) towards the end of his fight. You would have never known he was fighting this disease because of the positive face he always wore.  Nonno was a hardworking man. In fact, he worked with his company, Nick Pietropaolo Landscaping up until the day before he went into the hospital. He was in the hospital for two weeks until it took a turn for the worst. He was an amazing man who inspired so many people, including myself. His battle is our motivation to raise money and find a cure for this terrible disease. Ciao Bella!💗
