Hannah's Students of the Year Fundraiser
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page, welcome!
In February 2017, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. After surgery and six weeks of radiation she joyfully rang the “cancer bell”. But no sooner did she get through that ordeal than my grandmother, also a breast cancer survivor, was stricken by aggressive lymphoma. In her last weeks at home, my once vibrant grandmother, who was an amazing Italian cook and baker, just sat rubbing her legs to try to stop the constant, painful assault on her bones and muscles. She passed within two months and in the end was a mere shadow of the woman I loved.
I don’t hate many things, but I hate cancer! I hate that it took my grandmother so cruelly. I hate that it’s touched my mother. I hate that it touches so many of us. I want to do something. I want to turn that hate into hope.
For the past three years, my parents and I have supported the work of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) through the Light the Night program. This year, I am upping my game by participating in the LLS Student of the Year program and along with my team, Kickin’ Cancer!
I encourage you to join me in supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) by making a donation to my fundraising campaign. By donating to LLS, you support the many facets of LLS’s mission work from investing in groundbreaking research, providing education and support to patients, and advocating at the state and federal level for legislation to help those living with cancer. My appreciation for your support cannot be overstated — each and every dollar donated to LLS brings us closer to our goal to end blood cancer and makes an impact for cancer patients and their families. It’s been a tough year and people support a lot of great causes already. But, if you have been touched by cancer or would just like to help find a cure or provide education or support to victims, would you please consider a gift of $100, $50 or whatever you can do to help? I sure would appreciate your contribution and know that the countless people that will benefit from your generosity will also.
As a global leader in the fight to end cancer, LLS is committed to doing more for blood cancer patients and families than any organization in the world. LLS’s signature fundraising campaigns drive critical support for its mission, including a nearly $1.3 billion investment in cutting edge cancer research worldwide since it was founded in 1949. Since the 1960s, survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled, or even quadrupled.
Every facet of LLS’s mission – research, education and support, and policy and advocacy – work in harmony to put blood cancer patients and their families first. LLS has helped millions impacted by cancer throughout its more than 70-year history, even funding breakthrough blood cancer research to advance lifesaving treatments and cures that is now helping patients with other cancers and diseases. That is why at LLS we say that beating cancer is in our blood.
Please visit my website as often as you can and share it with everyone you know who would also like to join us in the fight against cancer. Together, we have the power, the passion and the resolve to achieve a world without blood cancer. All donations are tax-deductible.
On behalf of cancer patients and their families everywhere, I sincerely thank you for your support!

Thank you, Hanna, for raising money for such a great cause. We lost my husband's brother, Steve, to leukemia when Steve was only 54 years old. Losing these wonderful people to such a horrible disease breaks our hearts, but giving us something that we can do about it helps give us hope, and hope helps us heal. We send you our heartfelt thanks for doing this. Sincerely, Holly & Glyn Robinson (Avonlea Charitable Foundation)

We are honored to have the chance to recognize the work of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in memory of Marie Rossi, a woman who was known by all who had the pleasure of knowing her as a woman of grace, wisdom and generosity. We salute Hannah in keeping the memory of Marie alive through her LLS advocacy. Her grandmother is looking down on you with pride for your work as part of the Kickin' Cancer team. May God Bless the Henn and Rossi families.
