Within the world today more than a million people are fighting a daily battle with blood cancer. Every 3 minutes, unwillingly, someone else joins the fight. I have been given the opportunity of a lifetime to join the fight and help those living with the ribbon.

This year I have been chosen as a candidate for the leukemia and lymphoma society’s student of the year project! The Student of the Year Campaign is a seven week initiative in which nominated high school students participate in a fundraising challenge to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. My team, JUST CURE IT and I are raising money in honor of two young, local patient heroes. Our girl of the year is 5 year old Malaun, who at age 3 was diagnosed with acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, since then as of October 2017 she has been in remission! Our boy of the year is 3 year old Pirlo, he was only 2 years old when diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, and as of now he is currently in active treatment.

I am extremely proud to lead my team to hopefully reach our goals during the next 7 weeks, February 14th- April 3^rd, 2020! The candidate or team who raises the most money at the end of the program is named Student of the Year for their local chapter. And I need your help! 

Throughout this experience I am learning important skills like, leadership, communication, marketing, finance, and budgets while helping others and supporting research for blood cancer cures, not someday but today. Help us create a world without blood cancers!

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world's largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. The LLS mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world and provides free information and support services. Leukemia causes more deaths in children and teens under the age of 20 than any other cancer, and my campaign provides an opportunity to support the leukemia and lymphoma society in fighting these horrible diseases.
