I am honored to participate as a candidate for the 2024 Student Visionaries of the Year program, a seven-week initiative from February 2nd to March 22nd, in which select high school students from around the country participate in a fundraising competition to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The candidate who raises the most money at the end of the seven weeks is named Student Visionary of the Year!!

I am currently a junior at Fox Chapel Area High School, and although I have no personal connections to blood cancer or cancer in my family, I have witnessed many family friends and friends face diagnoses of such.

My mission goes beyond just raising the most money for LLS, but also making a positive impact on the individuals who have and are overcoming these diagnoses!!

With my team, Helping Hands, formed by Mia Pietropaolo and Natalie Patel, I hope that this impact can be made!

As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:

• Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics, and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients.

• provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.

• mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.
