I am a visionary; I have a vision for a world without cancer, but I need your help.

I have recently been given the amazing opportunity to be a part of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year 2023 Campaign. This is a seven-week fundraising competition to raise money in support of LLS starting February 2nd 2024.

As a part of Team Nora’s Warriors, led by my friend Noah Mackie, I will be working to help raise the funds necessary to benefit those who need them. I am asking my friends and family to help us assist the efforts of the LLS to find a cure for blood cancer and give aid to families along the way.

Like many others, I have witnessed the devastating impacts of cancer in the lives of friends and family. Most recently, my grandma (Ooma) was diagnosed with lymphoma this year. Thankfully Ooma’s lymphoma was found very early and she has not begun experiencing symptoms. We are hopeful, through prayer, that with the help of fundraisers like this, a cure can be found before she needs treatment. However, there are families who are already walking the road of cancer treatments, financial difficulty, and managing side effects. The money my team raises will go to supporting patients and their families as they fight this battle right now.

This year, I’m proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission.

As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:

• Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
• Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
• Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.
