I want you to imagine hearing the three words, “You have cancer.” Sadly, this has been a reality for more than 1.3 million Americans who are fighting or are in remission from blood cancer. Almost every high school student wants the chance to partake in something that will change the world; and in 2023, I will have that chance. As many of you know, I have lost family members and friends due to blood cancer, or just any cancer in particular. I want to be able to honor them. I am very excited to share with you that I am participating in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Student Visionaries of the Year program. Students Visionaries is a 7-week competition/campaign for high school leaders seeking to make an impact in the fight against cancer. This cause is incredibly important to me because blood cancer, specifically leukemia, is the most commonly diagnosed form of cancer in children and young adults. My campaign team’s fundraising goal is to raise $10,000 between February 21 and April 14, 2023. It is a lofty goal, but I am determined to leave my mark on the fight against cancer to the best of my ability. I cannot achieve my goal alone, though; I need your help. There are a few ways you can support my fundraising efforts: Make a tax-deductible donation to my online fundraising page: https://tinyurl.com/mwf3kkps Share my message & fundraising link with your contacts via email or social media Contact me about donating a silent auction item for the Grand Finale Celebration auction Not only is Student Visionaries of the Year a great way to support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), but it is also a great leadership experience for me. Being part of this campaign means so much to me, and I am proud to help my generation be the last to see cancer. Participating in this campaign has taught me so much already, including the power of perseverance. Yes, fundraising is hard, but it is not as hard as fighting cancer. You should be proud to know that your support of my campaign is helping LLS continue to make groundbreaking strides in cancer therapies and advocacy efforts aimed at improving the accessibility and affordable care. I can’t wait to share the exciting updates of the next seven weeks with you. Stay tuned to see what my team and I can accomplish. I will be posting updates on social media as well! Thank you for your support!

Corinne's Student Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser

Feb 07, 2023

Visionaries look to the future—and see infinite possibility.
They challenge the status quo—and make the impossible possible.
They boldly imagine a better world – and lead the charge to create it.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was built on that same vision - of a better world - one without blood cancers.

I am a visionary; I have a vision for a world without cancer, but I need your help.

This year, I’m proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission.

As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:

  • Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
  • Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
  • Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.

Please consider joining this fight by making a donation. All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. Please visit my website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!

Thanks to your support, my efforts will help ensure this generation is the last to see cancer.

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you!

To all those currently undergoing treatment. Be strong. Keep fighting because Life is worth living. As bad as it is to hear the words “You have cancer”. Nothing is better than hearing “you’re now cancer free”. Life changes for the better once you’re on the other side. Keep fighting. Never give up. Be strong.
