Students of the Year Milwaukee
Alyssa Kompas | A Kompas for Cure
Alyssa's Students of the Year Fundraiser
My name is Alyssa Kompas, and in the winter of 2020, my Dad, Todd Kompas, was diagnosed with LargeDiffuse B-Cell Lymphoma CNS primary, a rare type of brain cancer. Life for my family, myself, and most importantly, my dad was changed drastically. After a year of learning, treatment, and rehabilitation, I now understood that my family wasn't the only ones going through this fight. I am now announcing that I will take a stand against cancer and join the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in their leadership development program; Student of the Year. In a 7 week period, I will work hard to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society along with other students from all over Milwaukee. On my journey, I will gain all sorts of great professional skills like marketing, communications and networking, team building, and entrepreneurship; all things ill need to fulfill my dreams in the business industry. Just as others continue to help my family through our fight, I will take my next step in the right direction and help others with their journeys. I will be a Kompas for Cure! I made this decision to support those in need and to help connect them with generous people such as you. Any donation towards this campaign is a huge help!
Not only does LLS support blood cancer patients, but they innovate cancer therapies used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic, and prostate cancers. And LLS-funded drugs like targeted therapies and immunotherapies are now saving thousands of lives every day.
We really are getting close to our goal of a world without blood cancers!
All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. They'll not only support LLS research, but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well.
Please visit my website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support! For more information about LLS, please visit www.lls.org
