Will's Students of the Year Fundraiser
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page, welcome!
As you may know, I attend Marquette University High School in Milwaukee. You may not know about Marquette's community service requirement -- 100 hours of volunteerism. It's a core part of the school's mission, "Men for Others." This year, however, when it felt like it was needed most in the world, Marquette had to suspend the requirement. The cancellation of service opportunities prompted me to take on a philanthropic endeavor to try and make a difference.
My close friend Carson Hill and I are leading a team of 12 other committed, service-minded friends from seven different high schools in an effort to raise $75,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. It's a fundraising competition between teams of students across the Milwaukee area.
We know this past year has been tough for a lot of people. But if your circumstances allow you to contribute, I guarantee that your gift will be put to excellent use. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society accelerates research for treatments and cures for blood cancers. Many approaches first discovered in LLS-backed research for blood cancers are now approved for other cancers and diseases -- including the COVID-19 virus. It also provides patients and others with direct support and care.
This year's local honored hero is Juan Pablo. When Juan Pablo was two years old he was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He underwent treatment and was in the hospital for 153 days. Juan Pablo is now 4 and in remission!
I encourage you to join me in supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) by making a donation to my fundraising campaign. By donating to LLS, you support the many facets of LLS’s mission work from investing in groundbreaking research, providing education and support to patients, and advocating at the state and federal level for legislation to help those living with cancer. My appreciation for your support cannot be overstated — each and every dollar donated to LLS brings us closer to our goal to end blood cancer and makes an impact for cancer patients and their families.
Please visit my website as often as you can and share it with everyone you know who would also like to join us in the fight against cancer. Together, we have the power, the passion and the resolve to achieve a world without blood cancer. All donations are tax-deductible.
On behalf of cancer patients and their families everywhere, I sincerely thank you for your support!
