The campaign has officially started! Thank you to everyone who has gotten us this far, but we have a long way to go from here! 

We now have 7 weeks to achieve our goal of raising $50,000 for the fight against cancer. All proceeds benefit the LLS's mission of ending cancer by funding life-saving research and patient support programs which help patients and their families manage cancer's enormous burden.

I'd like to take a minute to introduce you to Jackson, our honored little hero.

At 4 years old, Jackson was diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. This was an extremely hard time for himself and his family and the story of his diagnosis was very moving to hear, especially coming from his incredibly dedicated mother. 

Jackson is now 6 years old. He has been on chemotherapy since his diagnosis, but I would never be able to tell after meeting him. He is an extremely energetic young boy, chasing people around and having fun every chance he gets. Some of his hobbies include swimming, playing with his dog, and playing with his toy tractor. I am honored to be running my campaign in name of this amazing kid. Stay strong Jackson! 

I am honored to participate in the 2019 Inaugural Madison Students of the Year program, a seven-week initiative in which high school students from around the country participate in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I am proud to be raising critical funds in honor of Jackson, our 6-year old hero who is currently battling Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, as well as all other patients of blood cancer. Our mission also includes raising attention to blood cancers like leukemia, the most common form of cancer in children and teens.

Each dollar is in likes to a vote and the candidate team that raises the most money over the seven-week fundraising period is named Student(s) of the Year.

Since the early 1960s, five-year survival rates for patients with varying blood cancers have doubled, tripled, and even quadrupled. Many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are helping patients with other cancers and serious diseases. 15 of the 18 FDA approved cancer treatments of 2017 received funding from the LLS. In fact, drugs first approved for blood cancers are now approved to treat patients with stomach cancers, skin cancers, and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis.

We really are changing the face of blood cancer!

All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.

Our team, Jackson's Crew, has set a goal of raising $50,000. With such an amazing team, I know that achieving such an ambitious goal is possible.
