Students of the Year Buffalo

Welcome to Katherine and Katie's Student of the Year Fundraising Page!
We are honored to participate as a team for the 2020 Students of the Year program, a philanthropic leadership development program during which high school students foster professional skills, such as entrepreneurship, marketing, and project management in order to raise funds for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). The coveted title Student of the Year is awarded to the team in each community who raises the most funds during the 7-week initiative starting February 8th and ending March 27th. Our mission is to not only raise the most money but also to bring attention to blood cancers and FIND A CURE!
There are several people close to us who have been impacted by cancer, so we have undertaken this endeavor in their honor. Katherine's uncle Taylor Kew was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma at the end of January 2007 and fought a tough battle to the end of August 2007 when he, unfortunately, passed away. His young 43-year-old life was cut short, leaving his wife and two young kids without their loving and amazing father. Katherine also lost her grandfather, Doug McIntosh, in 1999 due to Leukemia. His entrepreneurial spirit and great accomplishments have allowed her a very happy and healthy life even without meeting him. Katie has experienced all her grandparent's successes or failures in their cancer battles growing her need to find a cure. Their bravery and strength have inspired us to help others who may not be able to help themselves.
All donations and other contributions are greatly appreciated. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need. Thank you for your donation along with your participation in the following:
· Share SOY Stars’ message & fundraising link with your contacts via email or social media
· Donate a silent auction item for the Grand Finale Celebration auction
· Help us secure a corporate sponsorship (Sponsorships start at $5,000, and sponsors receive Grand Finale benefits)
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support!

Good project. My granddaughter did this successfully last year in her school in Atlanta. Keith's brother was cured of leukemia about 10 years ago courtesy of Roswell. He is a couple years older than Keith. My children's grandmother (first marriage) had lymphoma. So this is a meaningful endeavor for all who work for it.
