Hello, my name is Dhyana, and welcome to my fundraising page for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Seattle Students of the Year campaign!

I am honored to announce that I have been nominated for this amazing program. For the next seven weeks (February 10th to April 2nd) I will be working rigorously to raise money and advocate for patients and their families. The candidates involved in this program compete to earn the title Student(s) of the Year. I hope that you can support me in my efforts to help LLS in its mission to ensure access to cures and treatments for blood cancers and improve the quality of life for those impacted. 

While childhood leukemia has the highest cure rate of any blood cancer, it is also the number-one disease killer among children under the age of 20. This needs to change, and I know that as we come together and partner with LLS, we will be the last generation to see the devastating impact of cancer.  

While I have done small fundraising jobs here and there, fundraising on such a massive scale is something that I have not partaken in before. It involves taking risks and stepping outside of my comfort zone by reaching out to people when I don't know if they are going to help me. I am choosing to lead this campaign because I know that there are so many people whose lives have been impacted by cancer, or people who simply wish to support those in need, who will be interested in supporting this cause.

My co-candidate Krithi Iyer and I have created a team of committed friends and family to partner with us on this journey. All the money that is raised goes directly to the largest blood cancer research program in the nation, LLS, to fund cutting-edge research and treatments. I am asking you today to join me in this ambitious effort to achieve our goal of $50,000.
