Hi, my name is Faiza Imran and I am a sophomore in highschool. I am participating in the 2021 Students of the Year program, a seven-week initiative in which high school students from around the country participate in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

I am collecting donations in honor of patients who are laying in hospital beds currently battling blood cancer. The candidate team that raises the most money at the end of the seven weeks is named Student of the Year. Our mission is to not only raise the most money but also to bring attention to blood cancers like Leukemia, which is the most common form of cancer in children and teens.

CANCER. IS. A. DEADLY. DISEASE.

Anyone can be consumed by cancer at any time. Anyone can be diagnosed and admitted to a hospital with the cancer. "Approximately every 3 minutes, a person in the US is diagnosed with a blood cancer" - The LLS. Are we waiting for a loved one to be diagnosed until action is taken? NO. We must step up and the time is NOW. And we have the perfect opportunity for you to make a CHANGE in the world. Your donations will go directly to the LLS (Leukemia and Lymphoma Society), to relieve the burden of cancer bills off of the shoulder's of patients, and along with this, treatment research will be funded! 

Since the early 1960s, five-year survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled or even quadrupled. And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are helping patients with other cancers and serious diseases. In fact, drugs first approved for blood cancers are now approved to treat patients with stomach cancers, skin cancers, and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis. The LLS has also worked with celebrities and famous athletes such as Roman Reigns, Ally Brooke, and others to raise awarness and advocate for cancer eradication.
