Meet Lexi Bonner, this year's Honored Hero

I am honored to participate as a team member for the 2020 Students of the Year program, a seven-week initiative in which select high school students from around the country participate in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. This year, I am raising money for Lexi Bonner, LLS's Honored Hero. Lexi was diagnosed with leukemia at the age of three and has been in remission for eight years. She is thirteen years old, and lives in Puyallup, Washington. In addition to support LLS in their endeavors, she also likes to bake.

I am participating in this fundraiser because the friends and families of cancer patients often struggle with finding hope during these difficult times. By funding cancer research and helping families pay for treatment, we are giving every family hope for the future of their loved one. Ever dollar is another step towards curing a debilitating illness which impacts not only the patient, but their family and friends as well.

All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need. If your employer matches donations, please send me a screenshot of their confirmation, so that even if the matching does not come through by April 3rd, the money is added to my teams's total.
