We hope you are doing well. We are honored to be nominated as candidates for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) 2023 Virginia Visionary Students of the Year campaign. Students Visionaries is a seven-week campaign that will run from February through March, in which high school students across the country compete to raise money and awareness for LLS. Today we ask for your support of my campaign and LLS’s mission to find a cure for blood cancers and improve the quality of life for patients and their families.   

We have formed a team of committed friends and family to partner with me in our campaign. Together, we have set a fundraising goal of $50,000. We feel confident that we can achieve this ambitious goal with your help! 

Three years ago, I watched as my friend’s grandfather was diagnosed with Leukemia. We are thankful that he has started to regain his strength and that his treatments have been successful. Watching him fight his battle and continue to put on a strong face for my friend has been our inspiration to build a fundraising campaign for LLS. Supporting this cause is so meaningful to us, and I hope that our fundraising will help bring change and end the suffering to families affected.  

Every three minutes, unfortunately someone is diagnosed with a blood cancer, which includes Leukemia, Lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and Myeloma. LLS is the leader in advancing breakthroughs in blood cancer treatments. LLS is also committed to patient and family quality of life, providing free educational as well as financial support to families facing a blood cancer diagnosis.
