My name is Franklin Ace Heyming, and I am leading a team of high school students in partnership with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. In this seven-week long campaign, called Student Visionaries of the Year, my team will raise funds to bring an end to blood cancer. My team has an overall goal to raise $50,000 by March 24, 2023.

Ten years ago, my grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was a terrifying experience for members of my family. Today she is cancer-free, and every day I am thankful that she is still with us. It is unbelievable that we still live in a world where cancer is as destructive as it is. Countless families, including my own, have been touched by this disease, and it is our responsibility to contribute to the fight for its cure.

Last year, I also participated in this campaign, as a team member. This year, however, I am leading a talented team of my own in the fight against blood cancers. I hope you will help us reach our goal by contributing to this especially worthy cause.

You should know that the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is doing more than any other cancer nonprofit to advance innovative research and cures. Incredibly, it has invested nearly $1.3 billion in research.

  • Since 2017, LLS has helped advance sixty of the seventy-one blood cancer treatment options approved by the FDA.

  • Blood cancer discoveries have translated to other diseases. LLS is a leader in advancing breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics, and personalized medicine.

  • Treatments pioneered for blood cancers are in clinical trials to treat bone, breast, brain, lung, and pancreatic cancers.

To ensure more stories of survival, like my grandmother’s, I respectfully request your support.

Anything you choose to give would be so greatly appreciated. Your generosity can make an immediate impact in the lives of patients and families facing blood cancer diagnoses.

Your team couldn't have a better leader. $50,000 is quite a goal, but if any team can reach that amount, your team can...and will! Always proud of you, Franklin Ace
