As a Latina, I have heard countless stories of people who, out of fear of facing financial hardship or threats due to their legal status, have avoided healthcare services no matter the urgency of their situation. There is a stigma surrounding the system, and cancer specifically is a matter hardly talked about by the LatinX community, in spite of its prevalence and gravity. Still, it is a human right to have access to life-saving treatment and care, no matter the gender, race, or socio-economic background. Therefore, we must work together to make sure that this need is met, especially concerning conditions as serious as cancer. 

As a daughter, sister, friend, and community member, I am determined to fight for the eradication of cancer and its impact, so that we, our loved ones, and future generations will not have to hurt in this way.
