Students of the Year Albany

Maeve Kelleher | Maeve's Miracles

Welcome to Maeve's Miracles Fundraising Page!

Jan 24, 2020

I am honored to run for Students of the Year for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).  Students of the Year is a seven week fundraising campaign to benefit a young patient, James Richards, who is now in remission from a blood cancer, and other patients like him.  The team that raises the most money at the end of the seven weeks is named Student of the Year. Our mission is to not only raise the most money but also to bring attention to blood cancers like leukemia.

  • Every 3 minutes, someone is diagnosed with a blood cancer.

  • Leukemia is the most common form of cancer in children and teens.

  • An average of 3,679 children and young adults are diagnosed with leukemia each year.

  • More than 1.2 million people are living with or in remission from leukemia, Hodgkin's disease, and myeloma.

  • Since the 1960s, the 5-year survival rates for blood cancers have increased by up to 4x.

  • Blood cancer research has lead to treatment advances for other cancers and serious diseases.

  • LLS has funded 41 of 47 FDA approved treatments since 2017.

  • LLS mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

  • LLS funds support:

    • Research which makes up nearly all of today’s most promising advances.

    • Access to free information, support services, and financial assistance.

    • Advocacy for state and federal policies that benefit patients.

I personally have not been affected by this disease and neither have any of my close family or friends.  I don't ever want to see anybody I know or love suffer from cancer. Please help me, my team, and LLS make this happen!

Any donations made are tax deductible and very appreciated.

Please visit our website often and invite friends who would also like to donate!  For more information about LLS, please visit www.lls.org

On behalf of my team, Maeve’s Miracles, and blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support!
