Welcome to Patience For a Cure's Fundraising Page!
Students of the year is an exciting leadership development and philanthropy program that selects high school students (like me) to participate in a fundraising competition. The competition lasts for 7 weeks in which candidates and thier teams set off to raise money for blood cancer reaserch. The team that raises the most money will earn the title Student(s) Of The Year, and will get a $2,500 scholarship.
Why I am running as 2019 SOY candidate
I am running as a 2019 Student of the Year candidate to help in the fight against cancer. I have had multiple experiences with cancer. I lost my grandparents and a close family friend to this disease. My cousin is also a cancer survivor, when she was 16 years old in 2010 she was diagnosed with T-cell lymphoma. My father was also diagnosed with cancer when I was 12 years old in 2013, but thankfully he survived. He is doing so much better now and is able to watch me and my little sister grow up. I will be raising money in memory of the people I lost to cancer and of course, in honor of my cousin and father.
I hope to make a life changing difference to people with cancer and their loved ones. I love to help people whenever I can, and this program is a perfect opportunity for me. I want to give children and young adults a fighting chance against leukemia and lymphoma and let them know that they are not alone. I know what it's like to have loved ones with cancer and it is heartbreaking, so I want to make a difference, and raise money to find new treatments and cures.
Help me to help young adults and kids battle cancer because no family should have to experience heartache. I belive cancer can be stopped, we just have to have patience and be persistent.
Also, research for leukemia and lymphoma can be helpful to other types of cancers! In fact, drugs first approved for blood cancers are now approved to treat patients with stomach cancers, skin cancers, and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis.
Every dollar donated goes directly to LLS and is tax deductible. Your gifts are greatly apprisiated. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.
Please visit our website often and bring friends who would also like to donate.
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support!
Sincerely, Patience Tindall

What a great cause. My brother-in-law has successfully battled non-Hodgkins Lymphoma for more than 20 years to raise two children and has benefited from new treatments along the journey.
