This past June, my grandmother, Rere, was diagnosed with breast cancer. When I got the opportunity to be a part of LLS I thought of Rere and felt called to join. This is important to me because I want to make an impact on this scary disease that changes so many lives. Ana, a close family friend, was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2012, and won that battle. A few years later, in 2018 she was diagnosed with blood cancer. All of these cancers are positively impacted by the innovative research, advocacy, and fundraising efforts of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Now more than ever, we need to take initiative and shine light on this scary and deadly disease.
